Photos and letters from Lorken Pup Owners
Lorken has sold pups to many types of homes. Some are pet homes, some field competition homes, agility dogs, some as gun dogs but most as a combination of family pet and the others listed. We value feedback from people who have purchased pups from us and have put photos and comments out from them as associated with the mother of their pup. Please click on the name of the mother and see the responses we have from their pup owners.
We just wanted to let you know we had to put our chocolate lab Kasey down on Oct 24th, 2013. If you remember she was our daughter Nicole's tenth birthday present in 2000. It was like a fairy tale, we visited you to see Emma Good and put a request in for a puppy. We were way down on the list, then you called to let us know that Emma only had a litter of two pups and our hearts sank. However the other people ahead of us in line stepped aside. When we visited the two young pups on your farm my daughter Nicole asked when she could take her puppy home. Without you knowing Nicole's birthday you paged thru a calendar and said June 29th 2000 which is Nicoles birthday. Like I said it was meant to be.
Everyone tells me you only get one outstanding dog in your life and Kasey was that dog. Kasey was extremely obedient and an outstanding hunter. Kasey successfully achieved the first level in AKC and HRC hunt tests. Her ability to achieve higher levels was only limited by my skill and time commitments to my job that required many weeks away from home. Kasey went to senior homes to provide therapy for the elderly, passed obedience classes with ease, and ate every meal like it was her last.
Kasey was a natural pointer as we discussed in follow-up conversations. Kasey hunted seven states and Canada and retrieved ducks, geese, tundra swans, ruffed grouse, woodcock, doves, pheasants, Hungarian partridge, sharptail grouse, a sandhill crane (which we only did once as the guide in ND warned us about the danger of a wounded sandhill crane) and even a very sloppy pigeon when we ran #37 in an HRC hunt test. Kasey got me invited back to many hunting camps. Truth be told they were inviting Kasey back not me :)
Kasey left a large void in our life as she was not a pet, she was a member of our family. We were blessed by you allowing us to step up when only two pups were available and we will never forget this.
Kasey lived an extremely healthy 13 plus years and never complained about pain or suffering, and was a vets dream when she needed vaccinations or to be treated for injuries in the field. Kasey hunted hard until she was 11 plus years, Kasey outlived all my other hunting friends dogs, who were on their second dog when Kasey was still hunting.
I have told many people that don't believe me that if you offered us a million dollars we wouldn't part with Kasey. Money cannot buy the happiness she brought to us. If you ever need a reference for your dogs or services please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you again for all the happiness you brought to my friends and family.Dave, Tammy and Nicole Swanson"
